Hot foiling is the process of using a heat tool to transfer a metallic foil onto a leather or leather-like surface. Here’s what it looks like from our POV:
The calligrapher drafts the desired personalization on a strip of brand-matched gold (or silver) foil, ensuring no typos, and a beautiful composition
The calligrapher places the foil onto the desired real estate of the leather good that is to be personalized
The calligrapher uses a heat tool to trace the lettering onto the item
The best part! The calligrapher peels back the foil to reveal the gold lettering now adhered to the leather
No drying time needed! The item is ready to be handed to the guest and taken to its new home. Bonus: since foiling is a heat-based process, it means the foiling lasts quite a long time!
